Our university conducted the 22nd Korea-China Youth Forum by inviting Beijing Youth League Team on November 7.

The Beijing Youth League is affiliated with the Communist Youth League of China, which is a youth league operated by the communist party in China to foster future leaders. The Communist Youth League produced representative politicians such as Former President Hu Jintao, Premier of the State Council Li Keqiang, Former General Secretary Hu Yaobang. The visiting team included the Vice President of Beijing Youth League Li Jian and 70 outstanding students from various parts of the country.

During their stay from November 6 to 10, the visiting team successfully completed their agenda such as visiting the Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism, field trip to the Seoul Energy Dream Center, interview with the PyeongChang Olympic Organizing Committee, interview with President Jungai Kang, etc.

In particular, this visit is symbolic in terms of opening the way to improving the relations between the two nations through exchanges between Korean and Chinese students as it is the first visit since the resolution of conflicts caused by the THAAD issue. The forum was made possible based on the relationship formed through our university’s highest participation in tree planting and forum via Green Corps’ visit to China in May.

President Jungai Kang discussed ways to expand partnership and human resource exchanges in various areas such as culture and academia during the interview with the visiting team.  In addition, the students from our university’s Chinese Language & Literature division also participated in the forum and the elite youths from both nations had the opportunity to form networks.
